Great Stuff Chet! Kids and Birds are both so amazing and together – well what can you say – just a blessing to watch and share in their growth. :)

what’s the clicky thing do?

Joel  04/08/2010 4:04 am

I am so happy to see my daughter be a part of what you’ve (Chet, Dave and Jamie) taught us as far as taming and trick training our birds. We do have 2 lovebirds and they’re actually taking care of their 4 newly hatched babies at the moment. I have a Hahns Macaw (mini macaw) and have used all the Womach’s techniques and she is free flighted and can do a lot of tricks i.e. spin, wave, dunk a basket ball, boomerang flights, A and B recalls and with Chets talking DVD, booklet CD package, we were able to teach our Hahns Macaw to say a number of words within the 3 months we have her. Now we’re working on putting her words on cue.

Thank you Dave and Chet for all your videos. I believe I collected ALL your videos and have put them to the test and I can honestly say that your videos are just life changing to our parrots relationship to my family. They’ve became so close to my family my 5 year old cries if we would leave for a night out of town. My 2 year old is actually in the works right now being a successful trainer as the Womach brothers and we are hoping they would become the next up and coming team Jamieleigh.

FYI…i’ve even purchased your seminar DVD’s and have watched them over and over and it has helped me understand my parrots from their point of view. I don’t think i would have such great parrots without your help and all your DVDs. Hope to see more new videos coming soon in the near future!

Oh! And thanks for the birdy bread video! I have 2 bags of your organic pellets and my birds started loving the pellets through your birdy bread video. I admit they weren’t taking them in as well as i expected but after your tips with baking up the birdy bread, they just LOVE it!!!

Maybe i can send an updated video of my daugher doing A and B recall from such a distance. Now she’s able to recall her lovebird about 15 ft away and our trained lovebird just grew his flighted wings.

Believe in the Chet, Dave and Jamie’s techniques and I can assure you that your birds will transform beyond your beliefs. With Dave’s busy schedule, he was able to help my with my Hahns Macaw over the internet to train my bird to do boomerang flights and now my hahns is a pro with boomerang flights. Jamie even helped me train my flighted hahns to station on it’s play gym because all she wanted to do was to fly to me every time she was set down on anything.

I can go on and on but i don’t want to keep bragging about my success with my parrots. If my 5 year old daughter can use their techniques, I’m sure ALL of you can do the same. Trust them! The Womach’s really do care about you! =)

Thank you Chet, Dave and Jamie! I can’t thank you enough!

Warmest regards,
~Joel

The clicker from what i learned from Chet is called a bridge such that the bird will know whether it did the correct thing by hearing the clicker or know it didn’t do what it being taught to do by not hearing that click. Treats are always 100% associated when the bird hears the clicker.

More details about the clicker and training is in the “Stop the biting” course which was my first package I bought from the Womach’s. It works UNBELIEVEABLY! Trust in their work because it truly does work! My 5 year old proves it in this video. =)

Ooohhhhh. it’d beautiful!!!!, I am from Spain, can I share this video with the people of forums here in Spain?

Spiderspun  04/08/2010 6:49 am

click means trick was performed, and you (bird) get treat right after that

Line  04/08/2010 6:50 am

The “Clikcky thing” tells the bird, that it gets snack and it did the rigt thing. So it will do it again and again to get snacks (:

Meghan Mattos  04/08/2010 6:55 am

Awesome! I’ve posted your link on our fan page on Facebook to pass along! http://www.facebook.com/thebellasaracompany

Nooo…I’m five and half ;-) So cute!

ray  04/08/2010 8:04 am

dannii the clickey thing is a clicker it is used to train some animals

sandy smith  04/08/2010 8:36 am

my bird doesnt fly, and he us an eclectus parrot so guess could dom something similar in a non flying situation. The clicker you use when the bird has completed the trick or task, same as saying good boy but more effective?? is that right chet

Many Feathers  04/08/2010 9:05 am

EXCELLENT CHET!!!! Love love love it!!!!

Lynn  04/08/2010 9:33 am

The clicky thing is Pavlovian – the bird hears it / gets a treat / and will respond to training \
What a great video – I love your “are you better than…” and she’s 5 and a HALF, Daddy! Love it!

Bunny  04/08/2010 1:36 pm

That was great. Have any of you watched the movie called Paulie about a parrot that gets lost and searched thru. the whole movie looking for his lost little girl. It is a wonderful movie.

Virginia  04/08/2010 4:15 pm

Hey Chet,

Cute. I have a Quaker parrot who is so funny, he only says “nite, nite, and “ooooh baby.” But he does little tricks like puttting his foot up (is that what you call bird feet!?) to greet you. Then there is Dharma, the Eclectus, she has quite the vocabulary, she speaks very clearly and absolutely wows everyone with her ability to talk. She does like to bite sometimes, not my fiancee, but me!!
I verbally let her know my displeasure and she will be good for a couple of days then she’s back at it again.
Thanks for the info you send our way we enjoy it.

K.  04/08/2010 5:06 pm

Bleaaah! Your spelling makes me shudder. It should be “…better than this…” Love you, love your bird skills but your spelling is horrible. It’s not very professional.

LINDA HUGHES  04/08/2010 5:56 pm

STILL WAITING TO HERE WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE CLICKER? WHY DO YOU NEED TO USE ONE?

Chet  04/08/2010 6:23 pm

I guess everyone’s got a weakness ;-)

Kim  04/09/2010 9:03 am

We have tried the clicker with our Umbrella Cockatoo. All it seemed to do with him was insite him to aggression. He just did not react to it well. We tried several times and each time we clicked he would want to bite. Verbal praise works better for him for some reason.

Loved the vidio and don’t worry about your spelling. It doesn’t make you a bad person! We can’t all be perfect! LOL!

Kim

Thanks for sharing this video. It’s great to see young children training and reacting with birds.
I’m not all that great with computers, but I’ll try to send a picture of my granddaughter, who’s 3 years old, holding my Blue Fronted Amazon. Thanks for sharing!

Cindy Shaffer-LaFord  04/10/2010 12:24 am

I ordered the program, I dont have much of a problem with me doing things with the birds I’ve rescued, but I do/did have a problem with the 2 Blue & Gold Macaws going to other people! It doesn’t help that everyone is afraid of them! However, today after approx 45 minutes 1 of them for the 1st time ever, willingly stepped up on someone elses arm {& more then once} thanks to Chets Program. I do think I’ll need more help with the other 1, it already knows the game “I strike & you jump” & absolutely loves that game! I plan on sending the video of the training to Chet as soon as I get my son overhere to get it off my phone & on the computer. I hope he uses it for others with the same problem {even if he edits it a bit}! Food doesn’t motivate my birds, from me praise does, but it wasn’t working. All I could think of is Chet saying “motivator” so what would motivate my birds coming from some one else? Finally, it came to me, I am the motivation, so what I did was stand approx. 2 feet from Baby & had my helper get between us, so baby would have to step up on her before getting to me, who knew IT WORKED! NOW SHE CAN PICK BABY UP FROM ANY WHERE, now to see if it’ll work tomorrow & if it’ll work with someone else.
THANK YOU CHET & ALL !!!!!!!

Wow this kid is really good!!! She will be a Pro when she grows up :) ))

Susan  04/11/2010 12:26 am

Common sense, really. Good to see she has so much of it! They obviously share a strong bond as well as (possibly) the same age.

Gaye  04/11/2010 9:50 pm

that was so adorable :-D !!!

julie  04/12/2010 5:14 pm

I have this problem… I haven’t made the decision to try to fork out the money to get this program yet because I am afraid it might not work for me. I wanted a sun conure for about the last entire year- finally a guy was trying to rehome this rescue he had gotten. Apparantly this bird was tormented in the previous home, she get really upset when she sees a large ball of any kind, and thats the least of her problems. I got her and all seemed well that day, she was stepping up for me and on my shoulder and stuff, untill the *second* my husband walked into the house. she went crazy over him and has gotten worse and worse about me being near her( i call her a girl because I am asuming that is the reason she preferred him at the first glance) he can even pet her back , she practically jumps on him if he goes near her cage. she even attacked me once when I went to see if she would get on my shoulder from his- she did and right when I started to get all happy about it, she started attacking the back of my neck! I am at the point where I feel like if she doesn’t like me, then I shouldnt have to force or “train” her into likeing me… is this the wrong way of thinking about it? I feel like I should go with a baby- and pay the extra for a DNA test to confirm its a boy! plus my husband cant stand her screaming- she wants attantion but I cant give it to her and he doesn’t care about her!

mike maupin  04/13/2010 12:37 pm

Soraya  09/07/2010 4:50 am

Awesome!!! I always wanted a lovebird but instead all I’ve had are cockatiels and a budgie. My Auntie had a pet Galah named Nijela (I don’t know how to spell it) Anyway I think she is the best birdie trainer in the UNIVERSE!!

-Soraya

P.S What was that clicking noise when the bird flew back and forth???

Jacqueline A Peoples  10/12/2010 8:45 am
