Dave and I are headed to Moab, Utah this month to meet up with our newest Freestyle Flyer Students (and old ones, too!) and have a great time flying our birds together outside in the gorgeous terrain Moab has to offer.

Our last few trips to freefly have been in Waynesboro, VA as well as Page, AZ and Sedona, AZ. But based on where our newest students are, we decided Moab would be perfect for this trip. And since some of you were able to make it out last time we went to Moab, we figured we’d extend the invitation yet again…

We will be in Moab from October 3-16, so if you would like to come out any of those days and join us in watching our flock fly, please get in touch with us here on the blog in a comment and we will let you know the details. It’d best if you leave an email address (as our schedule will change based on weather conditions) so I can keep you personally updated with where to meet up with us!

If you’d like to join us, just leave a comment with how to get in touch with you and hopefully we will see you in the great outdoors of Moab, along with our flock that are eager to meet and show off for you! :)

Another Parrot Saved!

Yes, this is the SAME Amazon Parrot we got over 60 days ago, that was weighing a whopping 580 grams, severely obese, malnourished, sleep deprived, aggressive, and the list goes on…

Can you believe that the bird in the photo above is that same bird? I know I can’t!

We took his flight training to a new level and created Storm into a free flighted parrot. He is now ascending with no problem, has more energy in flight training than we do, and has started to work on his turning abilities and more. We met with his owners in Moab, Utah where we shocked them with his progress! They were literally in tears… and it was a wonderful feeling. They were more than excited to get him back.

He surprised them by flying in their RV from his travel cage to the front of the RV just to be in the natural sunlight! They’ve never seen him more happy and energetic and they even got to see him fly outside.

This is Storm on DAY 1
Weight: 580 grams

And his transformation…

This is Storm on Day 45
Weight: 411 grams

Hi Jamie & Dave,
Just wanted to say “Thank you soooooo much” for all your efforts in helping Storm to reach a much healthier and happier way of living.

I can not put into words how amazed I am at how far Storm has come towards a great future. He is once again healthy and eating great. He looks so bright eyed and excited for life.

To see pictures of him flying outside brought tears to my eyes of shear joy. I hope we get to fly him while we are here in the desert!

Love and grattitude,
Jeannie & Storm

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Moab over the weekend to watch us free fly our birds outside! It was a pleasure to meet all of you as well as have you share in the beauty of what it’s like to have free flight trained parrots!

Saturday we spent at Fisher Towers nearby a canyon. Sunday was spent at the back side of Castle Rock. Very few people attended?both days, but those who did sure got some serious diversity.

It was a lively, yet laid back group that was fun and relaxed! We can’t wait to do it again and will let you all know when the next adventure will be!

Oh, and don’t forget to flaunt your bird owner apparel!

See you next time and happy flying!

If you’re interested in learning how to free fly and would like to join the freestyle flyer’s club, where we plan a trip every 3-6 months to exotic locations please email info@birdtricks.com to find out more about membership and training costs.

Watching pet parrots freefly outside is a breath-taking experience that can’t be matched. Seeing it on video and film is one thing, but being there to witness it in PERSON… is a whole other ball game you won’t be able to even describe.

One of our favorite places to freefly our parrots is Moab, Utah because of it’s gorgeous red-rock terrain and fewer numbers of predators. The wide open space and varied temperature makes for the greatest outdoor adventures for our birds and a great learning spot for them to adjust to wind with all the room in the world to practice in!

Moab is where Cash, our military macaw, learned how to become an outdoor flier for the very first time. Cash was clipped when he came to us at 6 months of age! And if you join us next month, you will see him in person and see how much he has improved on his skill and stamina! He is a very avid learner but has earned the nickname “Crash” for a reason…

The rest of the parrots you will see freeflying in Moab with us are 3 other Macaws, 2 Cockatoos and 1 Congo African Grey. Making it a total of seven birds flying outside! For a sneak preview of what exotic birds like these look like on this kind of terrain, check out the video below taken in Page, AZ which carries the same red rock terrain as Moab with all the birds we will be flying for you out in Moab in April!

If you’re interested in joining us this coming April in Moab, Utah for an amazing experience of watching our parrots freefly right in front of your eyes… please email?info@birdtricks.com?and reserve your spot!

Happy flying and can’t wait to see you all there!

Our $1,500 Bird Flies Off…

Dave Womach w/ His Congo African Grey 'Cressi'

I’m only half kidding ;-)

My Brother has been focusing really hard for the last few weeks on learning how to ‘outdoor free flight’ parrots. Outdoor free flying parrots is something neither of us has tried before and we wanted to take our training to that next level… beyond just fixing behavior problems.

So we’ve put together what I think is one of the most entertaining web pages we’ve put together in a long time that documents the training process we went through with Cressi, our Congo African Grey (Dave’s Congo African Grey)… and my brother’s first attempts at free flying parrots outside.

Click here to let us share our experience with you!

Enjoy!

Chet Womach

Oh… and one more thing. I happen to think the page you are about to see is one of the most intriguing pages anyone’s put up on the internet about parrots in a long time. I honestly believe what my brother has trained his bird to do is one of the most beneficial things you can do for a bird’s mental and physical health.

So if you happen to own a animal website that could help promote the awareness of this type of training, even with a small link, it would be greatly appreciated.
