Hi, i have a Grey parrot and i also give him 2 meals per day.
In the morning he usually eat green beans, corn, soy and wheat that i put on water the day before. He loves it.
At night when i get home i give him, fruits and vegetables Broccoli, Carrots, tomatoes, but Cucumber is his favorite as well as grapes and cherry's.
He also have also pellets available all day long.
I have tried lots of food, and he likes to try what i eat. So just keep trying.
He also do lots of exercise, fly, and play so he is not over weigh.

Hi Ro,
Absolutely! Little birds need the same nutrition as the big ones and are fed the same foods, just chopped appropriately for their size. If you are having trouble, try keeping only the veggies in the cage until after they have had a chance to at least try them. This works best in the morning when they are hungriest. Carrots are a good place to start because they are sweet and most birds like them. My cockatiels LOVE broccoli and green beans.

Do the above mentioned foods apply to cockatiels as well?
My cockatiel, PIcasso, picks through the food and skips most of what is in it, i.e. sunflower seeds and all the other junk. It looks like just the seeds are being eaten, and everything else is ignored.
