Looks like you have some great IP manipulation software…what a jump….we are looking forward to the moment you hit millionsssssssssssss…may be you already did…..you just a need a sec……right?

Kiwi is great…we love her…….may be she does not know she is this ‘popular’………………………….heheheheheheheheheh

Hello…..you are still on 435….ok let’s take a big leap to 700 in one click….forgot how to do it….heyy….don’t tell me…you did it couple hours ago……do it again……….

ready, steady, goooooooooo

Chet  10/23/2009 1:18 pm

Sorry to dissapoint you Jim, but I don’t even know what IP manipulation software is, and since I don’t know what it is, I’m pretty sure we’re not using it.

Hi Chet, the comment was not for you but Kiwi’s owner. I was looking at their vote as one of my friends’ parrot also is competing in the contest. Kiwi’s vote suddenly jumped from 193 to 238, from 238 to 275 and from 275 to 400 (a big jump) and finally from 400 to 425. All of this big leap from 193 to 425 happened in a matter of 2 minutes which is impossible unless they use some manipulation in the IP front. Extremely sorry to say that your intentions to get a genuine opinion on the parrots talking ability has been misused…I believe Kiwi’s owner knows what he/she is doing and may God bless him/her that AT LEAST he/she gets a good deal of self satisfaction out of this. Gosh…..he/she must be really out of money……………………………………..

Sorry, Chet if you thought the comment was for you……

I’ll look into the fraudulent votes.

shes good, but jeeze, 566 votes? Jeeze, my bird only has 11 votes

Ashley  10/27/2009 6:20 am

Jim, there could be a glitch in the votes.

ashley  10/30/2009 12:49 am

580 Votes!???

Mike  10/30/2009 10:00 am

Great set of bird on this entire site.

Jim, this bird is only in 3rd now, have to flamed the other two birds for their votes.. hope not.

This is the best bird in the bunch, so hopefully it pulls back in the lead by the end.

Hello folks!

I am a member of an on-line community that Kiwi’s owners also belong to. I know a lot of this on-line community’s members who voted for Kiwi, including myself. I also looked at the videos of about 10 of the other birds and truly felt Kiwi was the best. The on-line members, although it is not a bird site, have followed the births of Kiwi’s offspring for the last three years. We have had updates when each egg comes out and when each one hatches, or doesn’t hatch, and have seen pictures of those ugly as sin, yet strangely cute, little chicks and watch as they grow feathers and eventually grow up enough to move on to good homes. The owners made sure they only go to good homes! I also know that the owners feel very badly about what they have been accused of doing and would never cheat for any reason yet alone for a prize of $300.00.

I can understand how other individuals may be upset but there could be a number of other reasons why the vote count jumped so much. Perhaps a problem on the actual website (perhaps all of our votes did come on board quickly or perhaps votes were not updated in real time for a few hours and then the site posted them all at once); perhaps an overethusiastic fan of Kiwi’s that the owners don’t even know, did cheat; or perhaps another parrot owner who figures the best way to take out number 1 is to create some fake votes for them and then have someone accuse them of cheating. Who knows? I’m not accusing anyone of anything because I don’t know what the problem was. I do think it was a little hasty for those who automatically assumed Kiwi’s owners cheated.

My thoughts! May the best bird win!

It’s so unfortunate when people think you are cheating – even though you are a member of an online community with hundreds of members and that’s why you got so many votes – I know, because I am one of them…

wow! love the singing Kiwi! Had to share with my co-workers so they can vote for you too!!

Karen  10/30/2009 5:27 pm

I think Kiwi is awesome!

Great site :)

ashley  11/01/2009 4:18 pm

Shes really good, but its not fair that she has so many votes because not everone knows lots of people to vote for thier bird like this person does, for example, Lisa ” Had to share with [her] co-workers so they can vote for you too!!” im a kid, so i dont have “co-workers” and i wouldnt think its fair to go around to my family and friends to say “vote for my bird” i think this should be a site where you have to log in to vote.

Judy  11/04/2009 2:24 am

Jim, I liked this bird so much that I sent this video to all of my friends. They had a choice to vote for Kiwi or any other of the birds in the competion. Falsely accusing the owners of cheating is absurd. There are many fans of this bird who have many friends and so on and so on. This parrot should have won the contest. Very clear voice and so sweet! The lovebird that won was a complete joke!
ha ha ha
if anything was rigged it would have been Bella for sure!

ashley  11/04/2009 5:58 am

who won??

Shirley-Ann van Loggerenberg  11/05/2009 8:21 am

Hi All

I’ve just seen the video of Kiwi chatting and singing away – it’s wonderful to see how easily she chats and sings – splendid. I have not been following the competition, however I had seen another entry in the competition several days ago, and was not impressed with what I saw as it appeared that there was a kid in the vicinity who should’ve been sharply reprimanded for it’s spiteful behaviour to the little bird. I was amazed to think that the owner even considered up-loading such a video to be viewed by so many. Be this as it may, I was also surprised to see that owners are so petty and I refer to the listings below – for goodness sakes people – this is fun thing – supposed to be enjoyed by all. Get a life people! These video’s are meant to be enjoyed and appreciated for what they are – not be squabbled apon.

Chet, thanks for putting up the competition – I have learnt alot by just seeing the video’s (and I am very sure that there are many others too who have enjoyed and learnt from the video’s) – which I probably wouldn’t seen as people won’t have posted them as the WIIFM (what’s in it for me) was not hanging in front of them. I thank you for what you, your family and Birdtricks do for better education of all birdowners.
