I worked at a pet store for a while and I had always wanted to get a parrot. At first I wanted an Umbrella Cockatoo, but I later realized that a cockatoo wouldn't be the best idea for me since I am still living at home and my parents and brother hate loud noises. After saving up money for over a year, I finally got my B&G Macaw which I named Miko. She was hatched on Valentine's day :] I love her so much, and I've only had her for about two weeks. The only problem, is that she seems to not like many men. But I'll work with her on that. Miko will be my best friend for the rest of my life and I am lucky to have gotten my baby bird at the age I'm at now (18) because that will mean that I will have her for the rest of my life. I love macaws and if anyone is experienced in bird care, I would reccommend a Blue and Gold Macaw. :] These stories really just make me smile. I have 2 african greys and a mccaw also howard my cocketeil. which I think i mispelled but you know what I mean.My Macaw is 15 years old I got him about a month ago and he is not real friendly but I am working at it. I think my biggest fear is getting bit by him. Your story was inspiring maybe I will make friends with this one I hope I think it is great how you rescued these birds.
