Rose Breasted Cockatoo

Dave and I took a recent visit to our local PetSmart in Waterford Lakes about a mile from where we live with our giant flock of parrots…

And what we found wasn’t pretty.

Normally when shopping around PetSmart, Simon the umbrella cockatoo is always in his cage (normally quiet unless you spark up a conversation) and this time, in place of Simon was a sign that said he had been stolen… and worst yet, right from the pet shop!

How? The new kid working at the store forgot to lock Simon’s cage that day, and a man sat next to Simon by the grooming center with an empty crate for as long as it took for the opportunity to arise for him to take Simon out of his cage and put him in the crate and walk right out.

Sadly, the only video camera that would have caught the man was broken and not working that day, so they have nothing to go on and Simon was not banded. All they have are his personality qualities to spread around to everyone to be on the look out for his loving umbrella cockatoo who has owners desperate to see him back with them.

They are offering a reward with no questions asked, for information on how to get in touch with them or give any information you may have, click here for their listing. ‘

And please, remember to lock your bird cages.
