Get Your Bird Back DVD by Barbara HeidenreichBarbara Heidenreich has recently released a new DVD that I think is going to be incredibly helpful to bird owners. Her new DVD that she has co-produced with Robin Shewokis is titled Get Your Bird Back, What to Do When a Parrot is Lost.

I have not yet watched this DVD, but I have no doubts that it is going to be one that you’ll want to add to your collection. If the quality is anything like her other DVD’s I’m sure this information is going to be top notch, and I’m very excited that the bird world now has a direction they can point people to when trying to get back lost birds.

One of the big reasons that I’m glad Barbara Heidenreich has released this DVD is because I’m a big believer in NOT clipping a parrots wings. And without going into a debate on this controversial topic, I just think there are too many behavioral and physical health benefits to not clipping a birds wings. But one of the consistent counter arguments I hear from my clients is that they are too afraid of their bird flying away… so they clip them.

Now I do NOT know if this is WHY Barbara Heidenreich was motivated to produce this DVD, and I don’t know her position on wing clipping. So whether she released this DVD to help more people be encouraged to NOT clip their birds wings, or whether she released this DVD to just help recover lost birds… either way she’s doing the bird world a great service.

So if you are at ALL concerned about how you would ever go about recovering your bird if it happened to escape go pick up a copy of Get Your Bird Back, by Barbara Heidenreich today.
