Really you use oil????? I use organic apple sauce instead of oil. I have my own line of Birdie Bread, Approved by my Avian Vet.
Also, if your using the egg shell in your recipe, Chet and Dave failed to mention that the shells need to be sterilized before you put them in there.
I personally don't use the shell because all mine is organic, holds up well in the freezer. But it doesn't
last long with my flock of three. B&G, Timneh, and Senegal.

Received this today & decided to try it out on my birds. 1 a budgie I hand reared & even introducing fruit & veggies & Harrisons on weaning would rather starve or go back to formular than eat them. Total seed addict. As I write this she is eagerly working her way through a large chunk of fresh made birdie bread. my version of your recipe with stuff to hand (finely grated home grown carrot, dandelion leaf & free Range egg & no artificial stuff,) as the last makes me ill, can't be good for birds either.
Well the experiment has turned out entertaining anyway as this bird is guarding the food from the others & shredding most into chunks to be dropped after extracting the seed. So now I'm covered in bits, the dog is busy hoovering up the floor & getting the precious Harrisons & veggies, & we end the day with a fat contented dog & a feisty budgie. plus our bread loving Cocatiel took one disgusted look & would have nothing to do with it.
Not giving up though as I feel sure the budgies zeal for shredding this will make her eventually eat some other bits & jealousy on the part of the others at her getting hand fed this is already getting them interested. I bird never hand tame is at this minute sitting on my shoulder & kissing my ear for attention & her share.
Thanks for the video & some great ideas & also a very entertaining day
