What type of parrot is a good beginner or starter bird for someone who has never owned a bird before?

I love this question, but most people aren’t always fond of my answer.
?
A parakeet (or budgie) is the perfect beginner bird and here’s why before you all jump around in your heads on why not!
?
Parakeets are small so even though their bite still has the potential to hurt, it won’t send you to the ER like a cockatoo’s will. And although they are noisy, they won’t drive you up the wall as bad as those toos, either!
?
They are social and love to interact with people, they are also naturally very vocal and can learn to talk. They tend to have pretty interesting voices but can learn tons of phrases and words. It’s actually a parakeet who holds the world record for the largest vocabulary! Yes, even over the famous African Grey known for their mimicking ability…
?
?
Pretty impressive, right?
?
They are also capable of learning tricks just like the bigger birds. They are very smart, catch on fast and don’t require as much space for things like flight training.
?
And though they will be messy like any parrot, it’s in smaller amounts so you can have a taste of what it would be like to own a bird on a larger scale…
?
Parakeets have all the same potentials as the medium and large sized parrots so if you can be happy with a parakeet, you might be able to move up in the long line of other types of parrots.
?
They love to nestle in your hair or hoodie and hang out with you while you do the things you need to do around the house. They are the most low-maitenance birds you will find out of all the parrots and have the most potential in the world if you’re willing to put in what you expect to get out.
