In reply to Jillian have you tried http://www.hbf-uk.co.uk/home.html for organic parrot food in the uk. I have also rescued a 20yr old TAG recently called George. He is lovely, quite a character and is usually very affectionate. He does have his problems - some plucking/picking, and he is very malnutritioned which has resulted in respiratory problems, a bowed leg and high cholesterol and he doesn't like to get back in his cage at the end of the day. He's a fussy eater but I'm persisting and slowly making progress. I am just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of ways to get him back in his cage? He doesn't like to be picked up and I have to be careful not to stress him too much because of his high cholesterol. I've also tried bribery but to no avail. He's definitely not getting his 10hrs a night - any suggestions?

here,

I have a beautiful african grey who is 2 years old. She is very attached to me and does not readily go to anyone else unless I am not around. I am in a very difficult situation and would like some input or clarity. I left my little baby in the care of a fellow hosehold member for the weekend, which I often did in the past, however when I returned two days later I found that all my birds outer layer of feathers all except the down feathers were plucked out from her body. I have my suspiscions however need to confirm that it was impossible for her to have done it to her self. When I returned she was very quiet and sat in one corner on her cage. She looked very afraid. When I called to hwer and put my hand in the cage she just looked at me and did not come immediately as she usually does and settled down a bit when I held her. How can I be sure that someone has actually plucked her feathers. Please email me on uhayder@gmail.com
