My birds LOVE scrambled eggs. And since I’m not a big egg-eater myself, they love them the most from Dave because he does eat them so he cooks them a lot more often. Bottom line: Dave’s a better cook!

You can put TONS of healthy foods into scrambled eggs to get your bird to try new things. When making scrambled eggs for your parrots, I always leave the shell in. It’s a great source of calcium for parrots and keeps you from hogging the steamy food ;)

Some foods you can add to scrambled eggs:

  • Peppers
  • Spinach
  • Corn
  • Rice
  • Lentils
  • Peas
  • Any other fresh veggies/fruit that are non-toxic to parrots

My birds prefer their scrambled eggs warm so try different temperatures and textures when making this for your bird for the first time.

You can also add in their favorite treats if they are hesitant to eat the eggs in the first place. Things like nuts and seeds that are fatty and should just be given as treats can be added to get your bird to try the eggs and develop a taste for them. Eventually, you should be able to limit the amount of unhealthy food in there until they like the egg flavor so much you begin adding new healthy foods to it!
