Hi Chet, I haven’t missed an opportunity yet to get one of your fabulous DVD Educational/Training Series set and I am counting on my quick fingers to make sure I get this one. For every person or family who enriches there lives with a feathered friend is forever blessed. We have three rescues, and eight unwanted I hate to say and we are always on the look out to add to our flock if it saves another Angel. For as loud as they can be or the attitude that they can display, all angels have wings!

Thank you for share your wonderfully simple, patient, educationing techniques.

Jessica  06/25/2009 1:50 am

Hi, my name is Jessica and I am the proud owner of 2 cockiteils. One is 4 almost 4 months old and the other we are not sure on but I am guessing him to be at the youngest 1 or 2 years old.
The oldest is very, very, very, very aggressive and I have been following your steps with working with him (the oldest – name: Charlie Brown but we only call him Charlie) and her as well (the baby – name: Lucy).
Charlie is so aggressive I fear him. When I get near his cage with my hands he tries to bit me through his cage.
When I do get him out I have to use gloves and a towel that is covering my arm, hand or skin in general.
I want to work with him and get him to the point were there isn’t any reason for me to use gloves or a towel.
My female who is a few months old, I can hold her without any glove or towel. She however, is starting to adopt some of the male (Charlie)’s bad habits and I don’t want her to do this. Help me please!

Chet  06/25/2009 7:37 am

The CD’s are a course my brother and I made, but have never made available to the public. The only people who’ve seen this CD course were the people who attended our live seminar… I’ll be releasing more details about what they cover this weekend.

Back to work

Karl  06/25/2009 7:38 am

As other have asked… what is the pricing going to be? I want the set without a doubt.
Thanks
K

Chet  06/25/2009 7:39 am

It sure does… a good percentage of this seminar was devoted to training birds who don’t like to be trained.

Chet  06/25/2009 7:41 am

Ian, YES, we ship all of our products to South Africa, as well as any country around the world. As for the price, I haven’t decided on a final price yet. But it definitely won’t be more then what people originally paid to attend my “Live” seminar.

Chet  06/25/2009 7:43 am

Yep, these methods will work awesome on Cockatiels, and other small birds too.

Chet  06/25/2009 7:49 am

Steve,

If you’ve placed a recent order and have a question email our customer support at info@birdtricks.com and they’ll get right back to you on your money order.

But I think you might be a little confused as our Seminar DVD’s haven’t gone on sale yet… so I’m thinking you ordered one of our other packages.

Chet

Dorothy  06/25/2009 8:40 am

It wouyld be helpful to know the full cost in Australia’

Meera Lal  06/25/2009 8:43 am

Hello Chet,
I have bought a number of your DVDs when I bought a new Cockatiel, unfortunately, there are more materials for Parrots rather than a Cockatiel. I would really like a DVD exclusive to a Cockatiel because I cannot get answers to some the issues that I am having with my bird. One example being she is a single bird and is laying eggs and gets real fiesty during that time, don’t know what to do and she does not eat at all during that time.. I do have a lot of questions and I see your dvds but do not get the answers from them. You are very very good in training these birds and I do appreciate your help…but

Bette Jo Traggiai  06/25/2009 9:02 am

I , like the others am awaiting the release of the CD’s, and of course price is my top question. Have your other videos and find them all helpful and interesting.

jennifer stackell  06/25/2009 9:05 am

Love your stuff………its obvious you love & care about Birds

Margaret Robinson  06/25/2009 9:33 am

Hi Chet,

Living in Western Australia it is quite difficult for us to know what the time is in your part of the world, especially when there is a ‘time’ that you are open for business! I really don’t know what I should do to overcome this, but would certainly be wanting to obtain copies of your CD’s if at all possible!!

regards,

Marg.

rose walker  06/25/2009 9:35 am

Dear Chet
I have 2 yellow nape amazons, one female very easy going but leans towards rebellion, and a very fear driven aggressive male. Right before moving from Texas I ordered your parrot training video’s and one of the biggest clues you gave me as to why they where not interested was I gave them way too much food, they where on Harrisons pellets sprouts, fruit, vegs and treats where not really sought after. I could not get my male in or out of the cage without being bit. I never pulled my hand back because I did not want to reinforce this aggressive response but I could not take any more of his bites. On reducing his food and taking my time with him, watching his behaviors, shown in the video, his feathers tight, standing tall etc, I slowed way down. I would stand and just talk to him in his cage getting closer and closer, reinforcing that he was safe, he began to lean against the bar for me to pet him and now I get him in and out of the cage with no bites what so ever. I did not recognize all the warning signs he was giving me until I saw your training video’s. Also thanks for showing how much sleep parrots need. The people I stay with thought I was being silly when I would say they need at least 12 hours un interrupted sleep. Keep up the good work
happy Amazon owner

Someone weird  06/25/2009 9:38 am

I’m guessing this video won’t work if I own parakeets?

Michele  06/25/2009 9:51 am

Hi Chet!
I’ve quickly become a fan of you guys. You have helped me so much with my Cockatiel, Sebastian, whom I’ve purchased from a pet store. I don’t know how old he is, but I’ve sure learned alot about him and about Cockatiels in general. He’s come a very long way, and I anticipate many good things by learning more of your tricks of the trade. I’m very interested in your new set of DVDs..looking for more information on when they go on sale.

Thanks again..you and Dave totally rock!!

Take care, Michele

Theresa  06/25/2009 9:56 am

Hi, I’m Theresa from Florida and am the proud owner of a Sun Conure named Skittles. I loved your video with baby and parrot and will be using this technique for Skittles as he has the same response to a baby (3-year old) who is an infrequent visitor to our home. Thanks!

Sandi Bresee  06/25/2009 10:07 am

Hi Chet,

As money is tight right now, I won’t be able to afford your newest DVD’s. I live in Florida and right now I am focusing all my monies on paying for Hurricane Premiums to keep my family, feather and fur babies safe this year.

I think these DVD’s will be awesome as I have ordered CD’s from you in the past.

Thanks for being there for the Parrots and their Mom’s and Dad’s. :)

CIMONE  06/25/2009 10:26 am

Chet  06/25/2009 10:32 am

Margaret,

The easiest way to tell what time it is in my neck of the woods compared to yours, is to go to http://time.gov

That website will tell you what time it is in any other part of the world compared to yours.

Hope that helps.

Chet

Barbara  06/25/2009 10:37 am

I am still grieving over loss last September of 3 yr old best buddy Rainbow,a Green Cheek Conure who became sick and died.
Don’t know where I went wrong, as I took extra care with him.
I have my eyes on a baby Sunburst Conure and would love to train it well. I also have thoughts of foster care of birds. I had ordered your previous CD’s. Was disappointed I could not attend the seminar due to schedules and finances. Would love to get the new series.
Besides training, does the series include the best diet for birds?

Chet  06/25/2009 11:15 am

Sorry for your loss Barbara, but YES, we definitely cover the best diet for birds in great detail.

Chet  06/25/2009 11:18 am

Julia,

sorry for the confusion, but NO, you do not need to sign up for a free trial of Icontact. That’s just the email service I use to send out my newsletters and updates on. I checked, and you’re already on the pre-notification list.

Christene Borders  06/25/2009 11:22 am

I received the first set with #1,2 ,3 & 11 and a cd along with a book the day after a snake killed my quaker.I now have a 5 month old African Gray and I am looking for to helping my baby bird talk he already steps up on my hand, gives kisses, plays like he is grooming me, does the wolf whistle and says hello. I would like your new dvd’s also.please let me know the price and when can I get them.

Danielle  06/25/2009 11:26 am

You have done such a great job with your viedos. They are easy to understand. Although I have not had the funds to get any of them I have seen little clips (not your new ones) of different stuff you have put on youtube. I have a 2 year old monk parakeet. I have loved working with him. But he has developed a very bad agreshon towored some of my family. When he went to my Dad (my dad and I are the only ones he likes to be with) he would some times bite and or be very agrssive. I was able to stop that. Thank goodness. If there is every little children weather my siblings kids or mine I want to take care of this before it ever gets to that point.
Keep up the good work!!

Robin  06/25/2009 11:45 am

Hi Chet

I already have several DVD’s and CD’s, also toy of the month. With 8 budgies, 7 cockatiels, a green cheek conure and 11 finches it is quite the expense just to feed and vet visits are through the roof. All the finches, 4 budgies and Petrie, my green cheek, are birds their owners could no longer keep. I have finally learned to say no because it is not fair to the birds I have to add more. I am happy to say that I can handle ALL of my birds (even the finches) but could always use more insight into what they really want so they have more fun. Petrie can be a nipper when it is breeding season as well as one female budgie; I have one pair of male cockatiels that are bonded and have an imaginary egg in the closet so they can be a little protective. Am hoping this new series is able to fit into my budget.
Thank you for all that you have done for our flocks.
I recommend your site to all “bird” people that come to my store.

Ramon A. Colon-Dordal  06/25/2009 12:43 pm

I want to view the new DVD’ ASAP.
I am hoping to train a female Green wing macaw that is 4 months old and I am transitioning from “exact” baby formula to “Zupreem” pellets.
Waiting to start training diet and clicker.
The more I can learn now hopefully will benefit my green wing macaw, who have the best temperament I have ever seen on a bird. She is lovely.
Other birds at home include an African gray, cockatiel’s,green cheek conures, budgies, rainbow lorekeets.

Diana  06/25/2009 12:45 pm

Hi Chet.

I have a Sun Conure my husband and i love him dearly. His name is “Yuyi” he is really loving bird the problem that we tend to have with him is that he screams like crazy when we walk in the house. We think we do give him alot of our time. We take him out of his cage every time we can But we would really love to train him to do tricks teach him to not scream every time we walk in the house. Also lately te tends to bite when we dont let him chew on sertain stuff. We would love to see how the new program would help us or if there is another program that is better for him

Helen Dettinger  06/25/2009 12:46 pm

Dear Chet:
I have truly enjoyed everything you have sent me about bird training.
unfortunately I am on a very limited income and cannot afford the training programs that you offer. If you have a short program that you can offer about teaching my african gray not to bite whenever he feels like it, I would be a happy “camper”. Lolly Pop talks TO me all the time and sometimes lets me take him out of the cage, but not all of the time. He is 17 years old and I love him dearly and I know he loves me, but sometimes he draws blood. I know its a lot to ask, but if you have anything for under $50. that will make him stop biting, I would really apreciate it.
Sincerely,
Helen Dettinger

Candy Mathews  06/25/2009 1:08 pm

Hi Chet,

I certainly admire your abilities with birds and your interest in helping birds through their owners. I have a Rainbow Lory, 2 cockatiels and an American Singer Canary.

I puchased many of your materials when I aquired a Rainbow Lory (1 1/2 years} as my familiarity was with cockatiels and I knew parrots required more of an owner. I was able to put to use some of the information before my Lory turned into Dr. Jeckell and Mr. Hyde. A local bird breeder thought the problem might be due to breeding season hormones. Kiwi disliked being in a cage when anyone was home and loved being on and near my son and I. After being shredded one too many times, I started wearing gloves, long sleeves, long pants, shoes, and wrapped my head and ears. This was quite a hllarious site! This may have been the wrong solution, but your information on reading a bird along with the full body armor got us through a rough time and kept Kiwi from being given away which I am very glad of.

After about 2 months Kiwi calmed down, will step-up again, go willingly into his cage, and allow some petting. Before this two month period I began the trick training. I decided to start with your trick of picking up something and dropping it into a bowl. Well a lory seems to be nothing like an amazon. He didn’t pick things up. Also, due to their unusual diet it was very hard to find a treat that worked as a reward. Then I discovered corn bread. He will do anything he can figure out for a bite of cornbread. I tried paper clips then finally colorful beads. After two days he was picking up beads. He would pick them up then drop them so fast for the treat. Now when he finds coins, paper clips, beads, etc. he picks them up and tosses them around.

I would like to continue his training but am not sure how to deal with the speed at which a Lory does things. They move very fast. Have you worked with Lory’s? Will these new DVD’s help to eliminate the Dr. Jeckall aspect if breading season was the problem. I would like to be able to take him places again and to let him visit the kids at my Preschools with confidence.

Do you know if the following is typical of Lory’s: Doesn’t chew or tear up anything but paper, doesn’t much care for bird toys, but likes people things some like pens, empty soda bottles, measuring cups. Basically things he can toss around or butt with his head. He also loves to choose what he likes from our dinner plates. I was able to teach Kiwi to climb ropes, but he will only climb them if there is a purpose; getting to me or food. He loves to swing, but only on a finger or a computer cord that is on the way to my son. Kiwi also says several words, and loves me to hold his fresh food while he nibbles on it.

Again, thank you for your love of birds and sharing it with so many of us. It would be great if every breeder and pet store that sold parrots, made the buyer aware of your materials. A lot of birds would be saved. Maybe you could create a “My new bird training package” that is available at every place that sells birds.

Candy

Jodi  06/25/2009 2:10 pm

Was wondering if it covers birds who don’t like baths. Also I’m having a lot of difficulty swithing to your pellot diet, I have a cockatiel who doesn’t eat much of the seed either, she prefers the millet so she is eating parakeet seeds. I hope you cover some of these difficulties.
Love all the other videos they are a tramendous help :)

Michael  06/25/2009 2:26 pm

This is not a comment on the training set, but another question. I have a 12 year old double yellowhead amazon that I bought from a friend a year ago. Since that time the bird has been very agressive towards me, although he allows me to hand feed him. He will not step up nor allow me to touch him. He no longer runs away from me and I can touch his feet through the cage, but he will try to bite me.

I do not believe this is fear agression, but competition. I allow him to run around the house on his own when I am there. He is very affectionate to my lab and will attack me to chase me away if I show to much attention to her. He follows her around and both of them come into the kitchen when I am cooking to get treats. He will take those treats from my hand and he is not aggressive at all to the dog when she is eating the same things as the parrot.

He also calls for me, when I am out of the room and will respond during conversations with others. Despite all of these social skills, he will not allow for any affection from me. He is better with my wife, but because of his aggression she does not try to have him step up either (although I am not sure he would bite her-at least no that hard!)

D you have a method to convert this kind of behavior?

Barbara DelGiudice  06/25/2009 2:31 pm

Thank you Chet and Dave. Thank you for the free webinar and videos!

Julie Atterbury  06/25/2009 3:35 pm

Can’t wait to get the opportunity to get these DVD my sun conure been biting my uncle a lot lately and I would love to learn on how to stop his biting. Please let me know how much they are and I hope I can afford them and get one.

Joanne  06/25/2009 4:52 pm

How much will this complete package go for. I’m very interest because my new husband hates my birds because they scream all the time at him. Iwould love to have a better relationship with them but, I tend to work out of the house. I beleive this is one of the reasons why they scream for him. I used to be home with them all the time . How do I bring peace back in the home???? thank you your emails have been very enlighting for me.

Debbie Beavis  06/25/2009 5:37 pm

I am not sure why but I can’t get the webinar picture to work, I only hear the voice! I don’t know if I am doing something wrong?

I have a rose breasted cockatoo, also known as a galah. I tried very hard to switch her onto pellets but months down the track I just gave up as she was far cleverer than me. She eats heaps of fresh food every day and has millet. I don’t give her any of the prepared mixes for cockatoos as I don’t trust them. I really hope you can sort out why I can’t see the picture on this video. I really am very interested in the seminar.

I think everything you do is great, Chet!

alex  06/25/2009 9:04 pm

Hey michal
For parrots tree is a crowd so all you have to do is invite some freinds over for 1 hour or over and make sure there all in one place then take you cage to that place and make the parrot get used the people do this demenstrtion 7-9 times and your parrot wont have that behavior again. dont forget to give him treats

Crystal  06/25/2009 11:23 pm

Hi Chet,

I tried a couple of months ago to order your training videos, because I adopted a Black Capped Conure with an attitude who loves to bite! Unfortunately they never made it, and after waiting 2 months for delivery I was forced to cancel the order. The biting continues and I am reluctant to make a bond…..

I own an African Grey who would never bite and loves to cuddle, I try to use the same method of training I used on my Grey for the Conure but they have completely different personalities and it just doesen’t seem to compute.

Any advice on getting your video another way would be great.

Thanks so much!

Denise Crow  06/25/2009 11:45 pm

I am looking forward to your training techniques, I just hope there is something on them that doesn’t use food as enticements or rewards. My parrotlet could care less about treats!

Your tips are great. Thanks for being there.

Neva  06/26/2009 1:50 am

I have loved your videos. I live in Johannesburg so how do we pay for yor videos. The exchange rate is high and this makes it very difficult for a pensioner like me. Cant you make these available in Sourh Africa.!

Regina  06/26/2009 2:19 am

HI. Love your stuff you mail out, the hints are great. I too am on a limited income and would love to purchase more but so goes life. I tried the pellet diet and had no success with it. I found another product called berry bites and my ecclectus seam to be doing much better on it. Do you know anything about this and what is your opinion please.

Ian Woodburn  06/26/2009 8:18 am

Hi Chet,
From ACT.Australia
You are really doing a fantastic job! I am awaiting for my first mailing of bird toys, ordered but not yet received, I liked your video on making your own, gives me idears. Oscar’s gone off the granule diet at the moment so he wants a piece of wholemeal multigrain toast after his shower each morning. when I’m in the kitchen he flies to my shoulder for a cashew nut from jar. He is learning to lie on his back, but hasn’t patience to stay long.
I lost him a few weeks ago when I went outside with him on my shoulder to meet a roof repairer and he took off, he was away over 24hrs and I put a tape recording out side calling him, next day he came back for feed.
He’s learning and so am I,
Regards Ian

Sylvia  06/27/2009 3:50 pm

Hi Chet,
I rescue parrots of all sizes and it has become an almost full time occupation. Until I received your course I was continually being bitten and now, I am hoping to allow alot of these poor creatures to be sent to loving affectionate new, ” forever ” homes. i can’t thank you and Dave enough for your courses !
Sylvia

Fiona  06/29/2009 12:12 pm

Hi Chet,
Sorry i missed the webinar but am still having good success with all the other products I have bought. I have a wonderful Alexandrienne for a companion

Lynn  06/29/2009 12:19 pm

Hi Chet,
I did belong to one of your clubs but recently had to cancel due to financial reasons. I enjoyed the info I have received. I have a 1 year old goffin cockatoo who my fiance hates because of her screaming. It is almost to the point that he is wanting me to get rid of the bird which I do not want to do. She is so sweet and loving and not a biter. The only problem is the screaming. When I leave the room she screams until I return. When my fiance is home alone with her she screams alot but when I am home alone with her she usually plays and is quieter.
Then there is the pine nut issue. She LOVES pine nuts. I used to give her a few every morning but I stopped giving them to her for awhile. Just this morning I gave her a few when she talked and was good, after she ate them she stands on the dish and screams because she wants more. When anything else is put in that dish she throws it to the bottom of her cage and screams for the pine nuts. I need help getting her screaming under control before my fiance demands that I get rid of her.

Thanks,
Lynn

hi chet,
you are really doing me a great favour by giving me such nice tips.bingo,is becoming nicer he got used to his new family as i told you before he was used to people,he screamed a lot,now he eats veggies and fruit he likes red grapes as a treat, yet he is still afraid of my husband though he treats him so gently,he steps on his hands caushiously looking around then flaps his wings attempting to escape.thanks again
