Two Shower Perches Are Better Than One!

Galahs
In my shower I have two shower perches set up, now this is done for multiple reasons. The first being, it I want to shower more than one bird. The second is that if the bird I decide to take in the shower isn’t really feeling it, it can go to the perch that is farther away and get less water misted onto him/her.
You can see that both birds are wet but if my bird wants to stop his shower early, or has never taken a shower before and needs to be “weaned” into it then I start the bird farther away from the water and the more into the shower they get, the closer the perch can move.
Yesterday I just had an experience with Cressi, my African grey parrot who isn’t usually as into taking a shower as my cockatoos. Because I’m traveling, we don’t have shower perches with us this time and so Dave put her on the ground of the shower/tub for her to walk around. He put her on the furthest side from the water and drain and Cressi, to our surprise, went RUNNING into the water and ran all around in and out, poofed up and LOVING IT! This is her new favorite way to take a shower now.
But if I put my cockatoos down there, they just stand there looking up like, why did you do that? Every bird is going to have their own preference and the key to getting your bird to bathe is just to keep trying! Try different places, different ways, different water temperatures, really vary it up and don’t give up because your bird needs to be bathing often to be healthy.

Some mornings, when its cold, I also blow dry my African Grey! She loves it! Talks and singing al the way!
Flavio, my yellow name amazon, likes his shower on a “T” stand with the tray removed. I fill a bowl with water because he likes to dip his toes and beak and SPLASH. If he is having a really into it day he gets right under the shower if not he flaps his wings into the shower to get as wet as he wants. Sometimes I get him startted with a squirt bottle then he takes over with the shower. He always comes out of his shower with a new attitude about life. He usually sings afterwards.
