When Playing With Your Food is a Good Thing

We all know the saying, “Stop playing with your food!” at the dinner table, and most of us stand by it. But did you know it’s actually a good thing to teach your parrot to play with its food?
Not in a wasteful way, but when birds play with things they have to do it with their beaks which means they more often then not, end up eating what they are playing with!

So start thinking about how you can entice your bird to play with new foods that are healthy. You can wrap goodies in a whole wheat tortilla, or make toys from food super easily to intrigue your bird and let them have a taste!
You can even go as far as hiding food within other foods and so on.
You can get as creative as you want! So get started – go on and play with your food!

MY PARROT ‘HOWIE’ LOVES TO PLAY WITH HAS FOOD. HE’S A DUNKER…CROUTONS & TOAST HE’LL DUNK. AND HE’S A GREAT FAN OF MASHED VEGGIES/ HE’LL OFTEN ENJOY EATING WITH HIS OWN FORK. SO VERY CUTE TO WATCH HIM ENJOY HIS VEGGIES!
